Christie Belle Lemmons Gain

Christie Belle Lemmons was born on June 24 1908 in Arkansas. She was the first child of Della Riggs and James Lemons. The threesome lived in Roanoke, Arkansas where James owned and ran a farm. Sadly in March 1911 James died, and 5 months later Christie's younger sister Thelma was born. Della was now a widow with 2 small children and quickly remarried a farmer named John Chesser in 1912. They had 3 children together.
At just 18 years old Christie married Charles Gain, who was 10 years older then her, on October 16, 1926. The couple owned and ran a farm in Demun, Arkansas. Charles mother, who had also been widowed in 1911, lived with them. Born to the Gains were 5 children. Charles (1933), Betty (1935), Erma (1938), Paul (1940), and Paulina (1941).
In 1969 Charles Sr passed away. Christie lived another 11 years, passing away on September 23, 1977 at the age of 69, survived by all 5 of her children, as well as several grandchildren.
